So the WWDC is coming in a few days and the leaks have been coming thick and fast. Looking over the information that has been let out it is clear that Apple is about to drop Google Maps and switch to an inhouse solution. This will provide the company with greater control over the information and also potenitaly provide an off line solution lets hope they add turn by turn navigation as well. This would be great for the travelling folk who do not liking wasting life savings on roaming data charges. I do think that the version upgrade to iOS 6 is going to provide only small changes and should really be iOS 5.5 but this may be done to prevent a clash with the iPhone 5.
So what I want the new iOs to include (ones i think we will get are in blue)
So the new iPhone has made as escape from the factory a little early, watching the video it looks like the new hardware will be longer as predicted. This will allow perfect reproduction of movies and the extra real-estate will provide interesting problems for iOS developers.
Looking at the video I was hoping that Apple might have a little more up its very long sleeves, it could be conceivable that the rear of the phone be touchable in the same way a PSP Vista is. Just a thought but lets see what happens on Monday
Well a couple of rumours have been floating about that the next generation of iPhone will have a large screen and possibly a new dock connector. The later of these two points makes a massive amount of sense, if you follow Apple news you will see they have been fighting for a new Nano sim design. This is great but a dock connector seems HUGE in comparison.
I am taking a guess that the new iphone connector will be around mini usb size and I think it will be a magnetic based connector similar to the mag-save connector used on macbooks presently. This is snap onto your iphone making it easier to find the right connection it will also allow more of the connector to be external rather than internal.
Lets hope every inch saved is handed over to the battery
The iPhone 4s has become available in huge qualities and Apple is selling this ripe fruit fast. Just this week the company has laid claim to the domain www.iphone5.com, this is unusual for Apple as in all previous domain name cases they have only requested control once the product has been launched. I think this points to a change in the naming of future iphones, no longer will we have a numeric indication of the generation of the iPhone. It will follow the iPad and simply be called the new iPhone. This will strengthen the iPhone brand against the single Android and smaller Windows platform, it may also be designed to reduce the huge drop in demand Apple experience when version “x” approaches launch.
Well the NEW iPad 2 is here and it pretty much is what was expected. The biggest of the surprises was must be the mobile networks that the ipad can connect to, LTE was not widely predicted until a few days before the launch. A big shame is the need for two devices to cover the big carries in the USA!
looking forward to seeing the new screen this really is going to be impressive and really expensive to replace. Has to be said this really is a leap that only apple can push forward with its massive order volume!
Just been thinking that everyone is throwing out the iPad 3 as the new product. Why not iPad 2s ? From what we can tell the new device is going to look exactly the same as the older model. This would copy the approach with the iPhone, when the case stays the same Apple puts an ‘S’ on the end. Add to this the fact that it looks like processor is only getting an improvement rather than a whole new generation!
The extra Benefit to this naming is it allows the current iPad 2 to drop in price slightly to compete closer to the kindle fire and nooks of the world while the new IPad 2s could come in at the slightly higher price point that is being rumoured.
So after i got my Iphone 4s guess right, in far to many ways it is sad to say. I am going to give you some thoughts on the eventual iPad 3. Although I dont think we will see it until the 2nd quater as the iPad 2 is still selling well and is not even a year old. Only indication is the large amount of “refurb” stock Apple is selling. This has always seemed more like a method Apple uses to sell products a little bit cheaper and clear its warehouse without the need to reduce its RRP.
Most obvious aspect is the addition of a higher resolution screen, probably a doubling in resolution as they did with the iPhone 4. Its an area where the iPad is getting a little weak compared to the competition as was the case with the 3Gs then Apple stepped in with a screen with a resolution that blew everything else away.
The A6 processor will debut in the new iPad this will allow greater performance and allow the system to meet demands of the higher resolution screen. I suspect this processor can then be refined for use in the next iphone later in the year.
I have a feeling that Apple will try and reduce the weight of the iPad 3 possibly with a carbon fibre shell combined with the liquid metal they seem interested,
The camera on the iPad 2 is weak and may receive a slight improvement to allow 1080p recording.
3G versions, as with the iPhone 4s Apple will most likely produce a single model that serves both the different American networks (CDMA and GSM)
Sorry for giving you false hope but seems we still do not have a jail break out in the wild for the iPad 2. Hopefully this will soon change but at the minute the door has been kept shut by Apple.
It seems that Apple has not taken to kindly to Jailbreaking and no doubt the iPhone 5 will cause more problems.
Lets all hope i will be updating this post soon when some of the genusis manage to break down the walls that have been put up by Apple. Good luck.
So very strong rumors are flying about that the iphone 5 will not be coming out this year. Well why would it, Apple are having no problems shifting the iPhone 4 and no doubt the production costs keeping heading south. So how about adding a little bump to raise the specifications and putting the S tag on, this lack of physical change could explain reduction in leaked info. Apple just need to change the internals and these don’t seem to escape very often.
A number of options stand out but top of the list would be the A5 processor, Apple could just throw this A5 processor, more RAM and what about those SONY cameras that slipped out few weeks back. Put all this into the current iphone4 phone shell and they might produce a single version of the phone that could work on all networks. They are already using a modem chip that is capable of doing this.
Looking at it from a slightly darker side the “S” version of the 3G iphone came out when Steve Jobs was ill and had reduced input into Apple, sadly once again Steve is not very well again which would may add weight to the appearance of an “S” version of the iphone 4.
What do you think? Me, I think this is most likely the way they will go but then again…
Great news that has slipped past me, with the launch of the iPad 2 Apple announced a new AV adaptor. This new accessory allows you to connect your iPad to an external HDMI display while simultaneously charging your iPad. As previously mentioned this solves one of the problems with the VGA adaptor that results in loss of power in middle of your presentation, fingers crossed apple with update other adaptors once they clear stock.
